Well its been nearly 5 months since the "alleged" parking offense and 3 months since the last letter from these clowns.

I am thinking that they have given up already as they know they don't have a leg to stand on.

Shame really as I was looking forward to collecting and publishing a long list of letters with ever more empty threats.

Looks like I was right not to pay them a penny and I would suggest that if anyone else finds one of these silly parking tickets on their windscreen they also just ignore it.

I hope this will give someone the confidence to copy what I did and not pay these con-artists.

Good luck !!!!

Letter 1

I had forgotten all about this until the post man arrived this morning with a rather official looking brown envelope.

I opened it up to discover a very cheaply laser printed letter from APCOA parking.

They kindly inform me that I have now missed the original deadline for a reduced payment so I now must pay them 85.00 within the next 14 days.

They also offer me the opportunity to tell them who was driving so they may chase them up instead.

Tempted to give them a name of a friend who has gone back to Singapore and let them chase that for a laugh however I don't want to enter into any correspondence with them.

The last paragraph tells me, failure to pay within 14 days will result in increased charges and they MAY engage a 3rd party Debt Collector ot commence legal proceedings for recovery.

Its all hot air from what I have read on the internet.

Lets roll the dice and see what happens next !

Wow, I am amazed at the size of income generated from these so called "Parking Fines" and that the DVLA is making a small fortune from selling our details

I think I might need to consider a change of career.

Civil Parking Notice

Ok, after carefully reading the alleged offence they have issued the car with a Civil Parking Notice.
Legally the tickets are not enforceable.
If they take you to Court they would have to prove the following

1) You were the driver

2) They had a contract with you

3) You agreed to their terns and conditions

4) They suffered loss

My gut feeling is to let this ride and see what happens .... watch this space !!!!

Parking ticket received !

On 19th March, I decided to go to Oxford with friends on the train.
Car was parked at Tilehurst Train Station, and purchased pay and display ticket which was displayed on dash.

Now, part of the car park is currently fenced off due to building works so there is a reduction in available spaces.

Unfortunately, there was no "normal" spaces, so the car was parked at the end of a line of cars, in a considerate manner.

It was not blocking any road, access or other cars. It was not parked on any yellow lines, it was simply parked in a logical space. The car in question is the black Zafira.

On my return from Oxford, I was amazed to see a "Parking ticket" stuck to the car window, along with 3 other cars.

The details in the ticket say it was parked in a "Restricted Area" !!!

The fine is 80.00 but they are very kindly offering a discount to 50.00 if it is payed within 14 days.

These companies will put a ticket on your car at the drop of a hat, and they think they can bully people into paying them.

Over the next few days, I will do some research into this company and find out how to deal with their outrageous demand.

I have a feeling this is going to take several months to conclude so will keep you all updated.

Please feel free use any of the advise I find and post to help you against these crooks in the future.
